Backup, Mirror and Disaster Recovery data centre
City Lifeline operates a backup, mirror and disaster recovery facility in Surrey, matched and connected with the central London data centre. Both data centres are designed, built and operated to the same high standards of reliability and resilience. Private dark fibre provides secure, reliable, high-speed data communication between the two at up to 10Gb/sec.
Location
The Surrey facility is 20 miles from the central London data centre, on the edge of the M25 motorway ring. There is good access by train or car and travel between the two is quick and easy.
Backup data centre
In a backup data centre configuration, you can run your main operations from our central London data centre and backup all your data and your most critical operations in the Surrey facility. You can duplicate all your critical data and retrieve it quickly and seamlessly in the event of an unexpected failure.
Mirror data centre
In a mirror data centre configuration, you can run all your operations from either central London or the Surrey facility. The load may be controlled by load balancers or maybe one facility delivers all the services, with the other coming seamlessly into full operation only if the first is unavailable.
Disaster Recovery data centre
In a Disaster Recovery data centre configuration, the backup is brought into service only if there is a major failure in the other facility. The changeover may be manual or automated. The level of service may be full or partial, as needed to ensure that critical operations continue to run.
Making Operations reliable and resilient
By using matched Surrey and London data centres, you can make your operations more reliable, more secure and more resilient against any unexpected failure or event. You can operate with a backup, mirror or disaster recovery configuration, with reliable dark fibre communication between the two. You can build a configuration you can trust.
